St. Vincent de Paul

This is a lay catholic organisation founded by Frederic Ozanam.

The biblical message is contained in the parable of the Good Samaritan. Lk 10:30-37

Role in our Lives

The society sees its role as supporting those in need.

In our Parish, the societies’ activities include:

  • Weekly meeting each Tuesday evening followed by home visits.
  • Monthly church gate collection.
  • Work with older people, women (including lone parents), men and young people.
  • Liaising with the community welfare officer and money advice bureau.

Anyone in the Parish of Rathgar can join the Rathgar Conference of St Vincent de Paul. Meetings take place in St Brigid’s room, next to St. Patrick’s hall, in the church each Tues at 7.15 pm.

The Parish Finance Committee is an advisory committee assisting the Parish Priest in making decisions on all aspects of parish finances. One key function of the Parish Finance Committee is to ensure proper management and maintenance of Parish Property and it is in relation to that function that this information note has been prepared.
